Durham have re-signed Proteas batsman David Bedingham in English county cricket.

This will be Bedingham’s seventh successive season with Durham.

“We’re delighted that David has extended his time at Durham for what promises to be an important season for the club,” said Durham director of cricket Marcus North.

“Bedders has been a key figure for us over a number of years since joining the club, and it’s fantastic to see him commit to another season, playing all formats for us.

“He brings a calm presence to the dressing room, an integral part of our environment who is hugely popular within the group and fits perfectly with our positive style of cricket. We’re really looking forward to seeing him play a key role in Durham’s success throughout 2026.”

Bedingham won the World Test Championship title with South Africa last year and, earlier this year, played for Durban’s Super Giants in the SA20.

“I am very excited to be coming back to Durham for next season. I love the place and I’m very happy and lucky to keep calling it my United Kingdom home,” said Bedingham.

“Being at Durham for the full season next year is very exciting and I can’t wait to hopefully play a vital role in getting us back into division one.”
