Western Province batsman Eddie Moore has been added to the Proteas’ squad for next month’s Test series against New Zealand.
The squad is without several first-choice players, who are contracted to the SA20, which coincides with this tour of New Zealand.
“The 30-year-old Moore has so far amassed 414 runs at an average of 51.75 in division one of this season’s 4-Day Domestic Series. The opening batter recorded centuries against the Tuskers and the Titans,” read a statement from Cricket South Africa.
“Overall, he has played 117 first-class matches and has a run tally of nearly 8,000, including 17 centuries and a career best of 228.”
South Africa and New Zealand will meet for two Tests in February 2024.
