Proteas announce contracted squad for 2024-25, Andile Phehlukwayo returns

Cricket South Africa announced the Proteas’ contracted squad for the 2024-25 season on Tuesday.

Fast bowler Nandre Burger and batsman Tony de Zorzi have been awarded contracts for the first time. Fast bowler Gerald Coetzee has been upgraded to a full contract.

All-rounder Andile Phehlukwayo has returned to the contracted squad.

Wicketkeeper-batsman Ryan Rickelton and spinner Bjorn Fortuin have been retained.

Wicketkeeper-batsman Kyle Verreynne and fast bowler Anrich Nortje have not been contracted.

“We are pleased to announce the Proteas Men and Women’s contracted squad for the 2024-25 season. The player selection for both squads reflects our commitment to nurturing talent and rewarding exceptional performances,” said CSA director of cricket Enoch Nkwe.

“Our goal is to continue building strong and competitive teams that can consistently challenge on the global stage. With the addition of promising newcomers and the retention of experienced players, we believe we have assembled squads capable of achieving success in the upcoming season.”
