South Africa excluded spinner Tabraiz Shamsi and returned seamer Gerald Coetzee to the XI for Tuesday’s Cricket World Cup fixture against the Netherlands in India.

Proteas captain Temba Bavuma won the toss and opted to bowl first at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamsala.

Former Cape Cobras all-rounder Sybrand Engelbrecht and former Proteas all-rounder Roelof van der Merwe were named in the Netherlands XI.

South Africa currently occupy third position in the 10-team standings after wins over Sri Lanka and Australia. The Proteas have never won the World Cup.
