Proteas fast bowler Lungi Ngidi’s participation in the remainder of Friday’s Cricket World Cup fixture against Ahmedabad, India, is in doubt.
Ngidi was named in the XI for the eighth time this World Cup. He bowled two overs before failing to complete a third – and left the field injured.
Whether he returns for this match – and the rest of the tournament – remains in the balance.
South Africa have secured a berth in the semi-final stage of the tournament. The other semi-finalists are India, Australia and New Zealand.
