Cricket South Africa (CSA) has confirmed a busy schedule for the 2026 season. The announced fixtures feature a blend of international bilateral series and domestic leagues hosted on South African soil.

It seems that the primary focus for the incoming tours will be preparation for major global tournaments. Consequently, the cricket calendar has been structured to ensure the Proteas squads are match-ready for their respective World Cups.

Informational hubs such as Bettors.co.za have noted that the density of the schedule will test the depth of the national selection pool. This analytic view suggests that player management will be a key factor for the Proteas across all formats.

Proteas Men to host West Indies

The South Africa men’s team will get their campaign underway with a three-match T20I series against the West Indies. The series has been scheduled to run from January 27 to 31, 2026.

These fixtures are intended to prepare both sides for the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup.

The tour will visit three specific venues. The opener will take place at Boland Park in Paarl, followed by an encounter at SuperSport Park in Centurion.

The series will conclude at the DP World Wanderers in Johannesburg. This final match will coincide with the iconic Pink Day event, which raises awareness for breast cancer at the “Bullring.”

Women’s team fixtures confirmed

The South Africa women’s team also has a full home schedule. They will host Pakistan for a white-ball tour comprising three T20Is and three ODIs.

The series is set to take place from February 10 to March 1, 2026.

This follows earlier tours, such as the visit by Ireland in late 2025, which transitions directly into this 2026 fixture list.

  • Men’s T20I Series: Jan 27–31 (vs West Indies)
  • Women’s Tour: Feb 10–Mar 1 (vs Pakistan)
  • SA20 League: Concludes late Jan 2026
  • U19 Series: Early Jan (vs India)

The Proteas Women will be looking to solidify their squad combinations during this period. Moreover, the series against a sub-continental side like Pakistan will provide a stern test of their adaptability to spin.

Domestic and Youth cricket updates

In addition to international fixtures, the domestic window remains active. The Betway SA20 league is scheduled to run through late January 2026.

As South Africa’s premier T20 franchise competition, it will feature matches at Newlands, SuperSport Park, and Kingsmead. The scheduling ensures the league blends into the broader cricket season without long breaks.

Youth development also features prominently. The South Africa U19 team will face India U19 in a series of ODIs in early January.

These matches serve as vital preparation for the ICC U19 World Cup, which Namibia and Zimbabwe are co-hosting.
