Cricket South Africa have confirmed the Proteas will tour Bangladesh for two Tests in late October to early November 2024.
Dhaka and Chattogram will host the Tests.
“Cricket South Africa and the Bangladesh Cricket Board can confirm the two-match Test series scheduled to start on 21 October will go ahead,” read a statement from CSA.
“A security assessment was recently conducted by CSA’s operations manager, team security manager, safety and security consultant, and a representative of the South African Cricketers’ Association. CSA has given the series a go-ahead based on the recommendations made by the team post an in-loco inspection visit to Bangladesh.
“The Proteas will arrive in Dhaka on 16 October, ahead of their first Test match against Bangladesh from 21 to 25 October. After that, the team will travel to Chattogram for the second match, scheduled from 29 October to 02 November.
“The squad will be announced later today.”
South Africa and Bangladesh have not met in Test cricket since 2022. Overall, they have contested 14 Tests since the first in 2002. The Proteas have won 12 and shared two draws with Bangladesh.
