Proteas name XI for first ODI against England – notable inclusions and exclusions

South Africa have named the playing XI for Tuesday’s first ODI against England at Headingley in Leeds.

Batsman Tony de Zorzi and fast bowler Nandre Burger have been named in the XI.

Batsman Matthew Breetzke and fast bowler Kagiso Rabada were not selected due to respective hamstring and ankle injuries.

South Africa’s last bilateral limited-overs series in England was in 2022. The Proteas won the T20I leg two-one. The ODI leg was shared one-all.
