Former franchise batsman Qaasim Adams has joined Primrose Cricket Club ahead of the 2020-21 Western Province Cricket Association first division A.
Adams was with United Cricket Club for the 2019-20 WPCA first division A. His appearances were limited due to Western Province, Cape Cobras and Cricket South Africa Invitation XI commitments.
The 36-year-old Adams also represented the Warriors, Titans and Lions franchises during a professional career that spanned over a decade.
“Joining us this season is former Cobras, Titans and SA A player Adams. Qaasim boasts a wealth of experience, having recently retired from professional cricket and is also a Cricket South Africa level three coach,” read a statement from Primrose Cricket Club.
Primrose Cricket Club have also appointed the experienced Mishal Isaacs and Achmat Brown senior coaches.
First team captain Ahmad Magiet has been reappointed after recovering from ankle surgery.
“Exciting times are ahead as preparation behind the scenes has been concluded. Now it’s time to hit the ground running while waiting for confirmation of the season start,” added Primrose Cricket Club.
The start of the 2020-21 WPCA club cricket season will likely be delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic. The 2019-20 season ended early for the same reason.
