The Paarl-based team in Cricket South Africa’s new T20 league will be called the Paarl Royals.
The team is owned by the Royal Sports Group, who also own the Rajasthan Royals in the Indian Premier League and Barbados Royals in the Caribbean Premier League.
The new league will comprise six teams, which are all owned by companies who also own IPL teams, will start early next year.
Each team have been allowed to sign five players prior to auction. One of the five must be a South African uncapped at international level.
The Paarl Royals have opted for Titans all-rounder Corbin Bosch, who was part of Rajasthan’s squad in the 2022 IPL, but did not play a match.
