Rajasthan Royals sign Keshav Maharaj for rest of 2024 IPL

Proteas spinner Keshav Maharaj has been added to the Rajasthan Royals’ squad for the remainder of the 2024 Indian Premier League.

Maharaj has replaced fast bowler Prasidh Krishna in the Royals’ squad. Krishna has been sidelined by injury.

Maharaj arrived in India earlier this month – and has been training with the Lucknow Super Giants.

He has also played for Fortune Barisal in the Bangladesh Premier League.

The IPL started in 2008, when Rajasthan won the inaugural title. The Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings are the most successful teams in the history of the tournament. They have five titles each. Chennai are the reigning champions.

The Kolkata Knight Riders have won the IPL title twice. The Sunrisers Hyderabad and Gujarat Titans have won the title once each. The Royal Challengers Bangalore, Delhi Capitals, Punjab Kings and Lucknow have never won the IPL title.
