Claremont Cricket Club have signed batsman George Hargrave ahead of the 2023-24 Western Province Cricket Association premier league.
Hargrave played for Northamptonshire in the Second Eleven Championship recently – and has also represented Derbyshire in the same competition.
Last season, he joined Durbanville Cricket Club in South Africa last season after hitting a record-breaking triple-century for Oxford University Cricket Club against Cambridge University Cricket Club in England.
More recently, he hit a double-century for Shropshire Cricket Club against Dorset Cricket Club. “It’s a proud moment. I hope it’s a stepping stone that doesn’t make me any less greedy or thirsty, but certainly a proud moment,” Hargrave said at the time.
Derbyshire’s Harry Came and Kent’s Harry Finch were Claremont Cricket Club’s overseas professionals for 2022-23’s title-winning WPCA premier league campaign.
Claremont Cricket Club were recently named the WPCA’s Club of the Year.
