Relegated Blue Bells Cricket Club recruiting new coach

Blue Bells Cricket Club are recruiting a new head coach for the 2019-20 Western Province Cricket Association season.

Blue Bells Cricket Club failed to win a match in 18 attempts during the 2018-19 WPCA first division B – and have consequently been relegated to the first division C.

What Blue Bells Cricket Club said

“We have a vacancy for the head coach position. The position is available for the 2019-20 season – September to March, depending on fixtures,” read a statement from the club.

“The candidate must understand the ethos and vision of our club and apply leadership skills where team culture plays a critical role.”

The experienced Shaheed Meyer held the post earlier this year – and has been invited to reapply.

Former Proteas spinner an current Western Province coach Paul Adams used to play for Blue Bells Cricket Club. They recently had a representative – fast bowler Imraan Philander – in South Africa Under-19’s squad.

Several other clubs, including Atlantis Cricket Club, Avendale Cricket Club and Strandfontein Cricket Club, are recruiting coaches, too. In the first division A, Milnerton Cricket Club recently appointed Edgemead Cricket Club’s Lightie Coetzee head coach.
