Batsman Jason Oakes and all-rounder Sean Gilson have signed with the Tuskers ahead of South Africa’s 2024-25 domestic season.

Oakes was previously with Northern Cape. This will be his second stint with KwaZulu-Natal Inland. He has also been capped at first-class level by Boland, North West, Northern Cape and the Dolphins.

Gilson debuted in first-class cricket for the Dolphins late last year, hitting a half-century and taking two wickets against the Tuskers in the 4-Day Domestic Series.

The Tuskers, who have been relegated to division two, have not renewed assistant coach Athi Maposa’s contract.

“A very fulfilling chapter has come to an end. There are pastures that haven’t been explored yet that I would love to,” Maposa wrote on social media.

“I’ll forever be great full to the opportunity to start my coaching career at KZN Inland.  It has propelled so many other cricket coaching careers and I don’t think mine will be any different.”
