Former Proteas batsman Rilee Rossouw has not been contracted by the Knights for South Africa’s 2022-23 domestic season.
Rossouw returned to South African domestic cricket earlier this year after several seasons abroad.
He featured in the Knights’ One Day Cup campaign during the 2021-22 season, but did not play in the 4-Day Domestic Series or T20 Challenge.

The Knights will soon publicise the list of 16 players contracted for the 2022-23 season. Rossouw is not among the 16.
Meanwhile, he has signed for Somerset in England. He will be involved in their 2022 T20 Blast campaign. He previously played for Hampshire in the United Kingdom.
“I have experience of playing in England and I made 156 at Taunton in a 50-over game a few seasons back. I remember how the members and supporters reacted to that even though I was playing for the opposition. That is something that I’ve never forgotten,” said Rossouw.
“When the opportunity to play for Somerset came along, I was delighted to take up the challenge. I know that the team got to the final of the Blast last year, and hopefully I can help them go one better this time.”
Rossouw has participated in several domestic T20 tournaments around the world, including:
- Indian Premier League;
- Pakistan Super League;
- Bangladesh Premier League;
- Mzansi Super League in South Africa; and
- Big Bash League in Australia
