Former fast bowler Rory Kleinveldt has joined the Western Province coaching staff for this month’s T20 Knockout tournament.
Kleinveldt has been appointed interim assistant coach alongside acting head coach Faiek Davids for the tournament in Kimberley.
This is not the first time Kleinveldt has worked with Western Province in a coaching capacity. In 2019, he briefly stood in for then-assistant coach Dieter Swanepoel.

Davids and Kleinveldt are working with a Western Province squad that includes the uncapped Daniel Smith and Jordan Woolf – and Proteas Kyle Verreynne, Zubayr Hamza and Beuran Hendricks.
Former Proteas all-rounder Wayne Parnell has been named captain and Verreynne vice-captain.
“We wish coach Faiek, his management team, captain Wayne Parnell and the entire squad everything of the best in this opening tournament of the new era of South African cricket,” said Western Province Cricket Association chief executive officer Michael Canterbury
“We know they will do the WP badge justice.”
Western Province have been pooled with the Northern Cape, Gauteng and South Western Districts for the new tournament. The pool matches will be played in Kimberley from 24 to 26 September.
