All-rounder Ruan Haasbroek has left Northern Cape ahead of the 2025-26 domestic season in South Africa.
Haasbroek was with Northern Cape for one season after joining from Limpopo.
He was Northern Cape’s second-highest run-scorer in the 2024-25 4-Day Domestic Series, division two, and One-Day Cup, division two. He was their third-highest run-scorer in the T20 Knockout.
“I’m extremely excited to join the Knights this upcoming season. I’ve always enjoyed the positive brand of cricket they play and their hunger to win trophies,” Haasbroek told Club Cricket SA.
“The Knights have always operated professionally and when you combine that with a winning culture, it creates an environment where you can thrive and grow.
“I’ve got great memories of playing at the Mangaung Oval and I’m excited to make a few more good ones alongside a bunch of great guys.
“I’ve always felt confident playing in Bloemfontein because of previous performances, so I’m hoping to carry that form into the season and help the team win matches and silverware. We’ve got an experienced group of guys and I’m looking forward to learning a lot from them.”
The Knights, who have been relegated to division two, recently lost all-rounder Dian Forrester to North West.
Northern Cape have also lost all-rounder Ernest Kemm, who has returned to Easterns. His first-class career started at Easterns in 2013.
“I am going back to Easterns – I am happy they have offered me the opportunity to move back. This is purely a family move – so no hard feelings with Northern Cape,” said Kemm.
