Former first-class cricketer Ryan Bailey will continue as Boland’s batting consultant for South Africa’s 2022-23 domestic season.
Bailey is the head coach of Stellenbosch University Cricket Club (Maties). He has been in this role for five years.
Bailey was Boland’s batting consultant during the 2021-22 season – and will remain in the role, according to Boland Cricket acting president Godwin Von Willingh.
Bailey will work alongside new Boland head coach JP Duminy.
Duminy has succeeded former head coach Adrian Birrell at Boland.
“When thinking about the Boland region, I was certainly astounded by how far it extends in terms of communities. And I realised anew the rich history the region has and especially the region’s love of sport,” added Duminy.
“My interest and passion lie with serving and helping people become the best version of themselves. My heartbeat is to see players expand holistically. To facilitate and influence players in understanding their role in society goes far beyond their performance on the cricket field.”
Boland compete as the Rocks in division one of the 4-Day Domestic Series, One Day Cup and T20 Challenge.
