Voorbrug Cricket Club beat Hague Cricket Club in the final of this season’s Topklasse – the leading domestic tournament in Netherlands – on Saturday, 26 August 2023.
Voorbrug Cricket Club seamer Ryan Klein completed a six-wicket haul after batsman Michael Levitt hit a century.
Levitt’s 102 spanned 119 deliveries and included 12 fours and one six. Klein took six for 15 in 7.3 overs.
Former Cape Cobras all-rounder Sybrand Engelbrecht captained Voorbrug Cricket Club.
Klein, Levitt and Engelbrecht are in contention for Netherlands‘ squad for the World Cup in India later this year.
“Levitt and Klein have been progressing nicely and Engelbrecht has obviously been doing well, too, as we selected him for the A side. We will keep an eye on them and their progress – and see where we are when it comes to World Cup selection,” said Netherlands head coach Ryan Cook.
