Rylands Cricket Club’s Intikaab Ismail passed away this weekend.

He was 45 years old.

“It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our brother, club secretary and legend Intikaab Ismail,” read a statement from Rylands Cricket Club chairman Saleem Mukuddem.

“‘Kaapie’ finally succumbed to his long battle against cancer. He went 15 runs and never lost his spirit, nor his love for cricket.

“Two weeks ago he was still overseeing wicket preparation for our Over-50 world cup game. To say his efforts and contribution for the club will be missed is an understatement.”
