The 2023 edition of the Over-50 World Cup will be played in Cape Town and surrounds next month.
South Africa, who will be captained by former Proteas batsman Louis Koen, have been pooled with Pakistan, England, Wales, India, Namibia and United Arab Emirates.
The other pool comprises Australia, West Indies, New Zealand, Zimbabwe, Canada, Sri Lanka, United States of America.
“The Over-50 World Cup promises to be a thrilling and highly competitive tournament,” said Koen.
“We’re confident in our abilities and are looking forward to representing our country on the global stage.”
The 2023 tournament will feature several former international cricketers, including South Africa’s b and Alan Dawson, Pakistan’s Zahoor Elahi, India’s Sanjeev Sharma, Zimbabwe’s Murray Goodwin and more.
The 2020 Over-50 World Cup was also played in South Africa, but was curtailed amid the coronavirus pandemic.
