South Africa have named the squads for August 2025’s ODI and T20I series in Australia.
Spinner Prenelan Subrayen, who has not yet been capped in ODI or T20I cricket, has been included in both squads.
Batsmen Dewald Brevis and Lhuan-dre Pretorius have been named in both squads.
Batsman Aiden Markram, who was rested for this month’s T20I tri-series in Zimbabwe, has been recalled.
Fast bowler Kagiso Rabada and batsman Temba Bavuma have returned, too.
All-rounder Marco Jansen, who has been sidelined by a thumb injury, and batsman David Miller, who will be playing in The Hundred in the United Kingdom, were not selected.
“It’s great to have our senior players back in the mix after their rest following the World Test Championship final,” said Proteas head coach Shukri Conrad.
“Their experience and quality add real value to the group as we continue to build a strong core in both formats.
“Every series from here on plays a part in shaping our squads for next year’s T20 World Cup and the Cricket World Cup at home in 2027.
“Touring Australia is never easy. We know their conditions and intensity will test us in every department – and that’s exactly the kind of challenge we’re after.”
Australia and South Africa will contest three T20Is and three ODIs from 10 to 24 August. The matches will be played in Darwin, Cairns and Mackay.
