League commissioner Graeme Smith has confirmed Newlands in Cape Town will host the final of the SA20 next year.
Newlands, which will also host the opening fixture of the SA20 on 26 December, has been given the final on 25 January.
“SA20 season four is shaping up to be an incredibly exciting summer of cricket, kicking off on Boxing Day and running through the holiday period,” said Smith.
“Last year Newlands sold out all five matches at the venue and with the final taking place on a Sunday, it sets up an incredible afternoon with great weather, entertainment and a lively atmosphere to crown our season four champions.
Kingsmead in Durban, SuperSport Park in Centurion and the Wanderers in Johannesburg will host the three play-off fixtures at that precede the final.
“Durban will host a play-off for the first time and we’re hoping this will excite the fans, especially because the two best teams of the competition will be playing in that first qualifier,” added Smith.
“We’re also excited to go back to Centurion and Wanderers on the Thursday and Friday nights – it’s always key to have the venues close together because the matches are a day apart.
“It’s always an interesting challenge for us to get the scheduling of the play-off matches done and done well. Especially after an exciting group match stage that finishes two days before the first play-off match. I am looking forward to seeing who will be competing.”
The player auction for this edition of the SA20 will happen in Johannesburg on 9 September.
MI Cape Town are the reigning SA20 champions. The Sunrisers Eastern Cape are the most successful team in the history of the tournament with two titles.
