Durban’s Super Giants have signed England batsman Jos Buttler, West Indies all-rounder Sunil Narine and Afghanistan spinner Noor Ahmad in the SA20.
Ahmad was with Durban’s Super Giants previously. He was DSG’s leading wicket-taker in the third edition of the SA20 earlier this year.
Buttler has moved to Durban’s Super Giants from the Paarl Royals. This will be Narine’s first time in the SA20.
Buttler, Narine and Ahmad were with the Gujarat Titans, Kolkata Knight Riders and Chennai Super Kings in the Indian Premier League recently.
Meanwhile, the Sunrisers Eastern Cape have signed spinner AM Ghazanfar.
Ghazanfar was in Mumbai Indians’ squad for the 2025 IPL, but later withdrew due to injury. He has also played for MI Emirates in the International League T20 in the United Arab Emirates.
Ghazanfar has taken 25 wickets in one Test and 11 ODIs for Afghanistan.
MI Cape Town are the reigning SA20 champions. The Sunrisers Eastern Cape are the most successful team in the history of the SA20 with two titles.
Durban, Paarl, the Joburg Super Kings and Pretoria Capitals have never won a SA20 title.
“The fourth season of the competition will start on 26 December 2025, with major announcements around fixtures, player signings and the auction to be communicated soon,” read a statement from the SA20.
