West Indies fast bowler Obed McCoy has been ruled out of the inaugural edition of the SA20, which will start this week.

McCoy has been sidelined by injury. His participation in the Rajasthan Royals’ Indian Premier League campaign later this year is in doubt, too.

“Obed will not be taking part in the upcoming SA20 season due to injury. The Royals family are taking an active role in supporting his recovery,” read a brief statement from the Paarl Royals.

Joburg Super Kings lose Brook

Late last year, the Joburg Super Kings lost England batsman Harry Brook. His participation in the SA20 was withdrawn by the England and Wales Cricket Board.

Kings lost Ali, too

In September 2022, the Joburg Super Kings had lost England all-rounder Moeen Ali. He initially signed for the SA20, but later withdrew to captain the Sharjah Warriors in the inaugural International League T20 in the United Arab Emirates.
