Wicketkeeper-batsman Daniel Smith and Keith Dudgeon have exited the Pretoria Capitals squad in the ongoing fourth season of the SA20.

Smith and Dudgeon were added to the Capitals squad last month as cover for England’s Jordan Cox and West Indian Andre Russell, who were involved in the International League T20 in the United Arab Emirates at the time. Cox and Russell have since joined the Capitals.

“England international Jordan Cox will also slot in the Capitals’ squad at the expense of rising star Daniel Smith. Cox is no stranger to the SA20 after being part of the Sunrisers Eastern Cape’s inaugural championship-winning squad in 2023,” read a statement from the SA20.

Smith played one match for the Capitals, while Dudgeon did not debut.

Meanwhile, Durban’s Super Giants have lost batsmen Tony de Zorzi and Gysbert Wege to injury and illness, respectively.

“Rising Star Gysbert Wege has been ruled out due to illness and has left the DSG camp to undergo rehabilitation. No replacement has been called for his place in the squad,” said the SA20.

The Joburg Super Kings have lost batsman Rilee Rossouw to injury, too.

“Joburg Super Kings have recalled seamer Duan Jansen into the squad after top-order batter Rilee Rossouw has been ruled out due to injury,” added the SA20.

England batsman James Vince, who has scored the eighth most runs in the history of T20 cricket, has arrived for the Joburg Super Kings as well.

“I am looking forward to the opportunity to bat with him captain Faf du Plessis again. He’s been around a long time, a quality player. One of the best players SA has had, so it’ll be a pleasure to open up with him,” said the SA20.
