Seamer Samantha Schutte has joined Titans Women for the 2025-26 domestic season in South Africa.
Schutte was previously with Lions Women. She had not played for them since April 2024.
“A big Lions roar of love and appreciation to seamer Samantha Schutte as she heads off to the Titans,” Lions Women wrote on social media.
“Your dedication, fire and team spirit lit up the Lions family, and were so proud of your journey. Thank you for every spell and smile. Keep flying, keep fighting.”
All-rounder Sarah Barber has also left Lions Women. She has joined North West Women.
“A heartfelt farewell to our spirited seamer, Sarah Barber, as she takes the next step in her cricket journey with North West,” added Lions Women.
“Your energy, passion and grit will be deeply missed in the pride. Thank you for every delivery, every smile and every moment in the Lions colours. Go shine, Sarah – once a Lioness, always a Lioness.”
Titans Women recently appointed new head coach Pierre de Bruyn. He has succeeded former Titans Women head coach Mandla Mashimbyi, who has joined the Proteas Women.
Titans chief executive officer Jacques Faul said: “Pierre is someone who understands the Titans culture and what it takes to succeed. His work ethic, passion for the game, and proven track record make him the perfect fit for this role. We are excited to welcome him back and look forward to the impact he will make over the next two years.”
