Proteas leg-spinner Shaun von Berg has joined Robertson Cricket Club for the 2021-22 Cricket Boland Premier League.
Von Berg toured Sri Lanka with the Test squad in 2018, but did not debut. He was not retained by Free State for South Africa’s new domestic structure, but has since been contracted by Boland.
Robertson Cricket Club have retained all-rounder Ferisco Adams, batsman Warwick Abrahim and Proteas player Christiaan Jonker.

“Shaun will join us at Robertson, where he will enjoy his club cricket,” Robertson Cricket Club chairman Cecil Fielies told Club Cricket SA.
“It will be great to have a player of Shaun’s experience and talent in our team. He can add a lot of value for the other players, too.
“It all started in Robertson for Ferisco and we are delighted to have him at our club again this season. We look forward to seeing him perform well for Boland as well.
“We are proud of Warwick and his first-class experience for Boland in the past. He can also add great value to the team.
“Christiaan played for the Proteas in the past. After joining us in 2020, he is staying with us for this season as well.”
Robertson Cricket Club were the Western Province, South Western Districts and Boland at the 2019 T20 Community Cup, after overcoming George Cricket Club and Cape Town Cricket Club in the qualifying fixtures. The tournament, though, was entirely washed out.
