Seamer Kwena Maphaka has joined South Africa A’s squad for the ongoing series against Sri Lanka A.
Maphaka has replaced the injured Lutho Sipamla.
“Fast bowler Lutho Sipamla has been ruled out of the remainder of the one-day series against Sri Lanka due to a back injury. Kwena Maphaka has been called up to strengthen the squad,” read a statement from Cricket South Africa.
Maphaka is 17 years old – and was capped five times by South Africa Under-19 in October 2022.
Sri Lanka A and South Africa A are contesting the limited-over series decider in Pallekele on Thursday. South Africa A won the first match last week and Sri Lanka the second this week.
South Africa A and Sri Lanka A will also contest two four-day fixtures in Hambantota this month.
