Australia beat India by six wickets in the fifth and final Test at the Sydney Cricket Ground on Sunday.
The result afforded Australia a berth in the final of the International Cricket Council’s 2023-25 World Test Championship final.
“It has been an amazing series. We’re immensely proud. We’ve spent a lot of time together as a group over the years,” said Australia Test captain Pat Cummins.
“So you stick tight and double down on what makes us a really good side. It’s been such a special group. Feel so privileged to first of all have this job.
“But what we’ve been able to achieve together alongside the support staff as well, it’s such a group effort, families as well. They give up so much. So yeah, really proud with what we’ve been able to achieve.”
Australia will meet South Africa in the WTC final at Lord’s in London, England, in June 2025.
India and Sri Lanka were also in contention for the final until Australia completed this week’s series victory.
