Soweto Pioneers Cricket Club are hiring a head coach ahead of the 2017-18 season.
Formerly known as Soweto Cricket Club, prior to a merge with Dobsonville Cricket Club, Soweto Pioneers Cricket Club compete in the Gauteng Cricket Board premier league A.
They finished in seventh position in 2016-17’s 10-team standings, after just five wins in 18 matches.
“The incumbent will be responsible to coach the SPCC first XI. The initial period of employment is from August 2017 to the end of April 2018. This contract may be considered for an extension,” said chairman Siqamo Laphu.
“Qualification-wise, we would like a former international cricket player or someone with a Cricket South Africa level three coaching qualification, or the equivalent.
“Experience-wise, three years’ coaching experience of a premier league team is the preference. The coach will mainly deal and communicate with male players. Working in a team, interacting successfully at all levels and having the ability to work effectively under pressure is a prerequisite.”
