England batsman Jonny Bairstow has joined the Sunrisers Eastern Cape for the fourth edition of the SA20.
Bairstow previously represented the Joburg Super Kings in the SA20 – and played for the Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League earlier this year.
The Sunrisers have also signed New Zealand fast bowler Adam Milne and Afghanistan spinner AM Ghazanfar.
They have retained South African pair Marco Jansen and Tristan Stubbs.
The SA20 player auction will be held in Johannesburg on 9 September 2025. The tournament will start on 26 December.
The Sunrisers Eastern Cape are the most successful team in the history of the tournament with two titles. MI Cape Town are the reigning SA20 champions.
The Sunrisers will have a new captain after batsman Aiden Markram opted not to be retained.
