India beat South Africa by 106 runs in Thursday’s third T20I at the Wanderers in Johannesburg.
India posted a final total of 201 for seven. Captain Suryakumar Yadav struck 100 from 56 deliveries, including seven fours and eight sixes. Proteas seamer Lizaad Williams and spinner Tabraiz Shamsi took two wickets each.
South Africa replied with 95 all out in 13.5 overs. Captain Aiden Markram hit 25 and middle-order batsman David Miller 35. Indian pinner Kuldeep Yadav completed figures of five for 17.
“It felt like things were a little stoppy and a little down when we were batting,” said Proteas captain Aiden Markram.
“It would have been nice to do better. There are some positives that we can take forward. There were a couple of good things and a couple of things we can work on.”
The result levelled the three-match series one-all. The first T20I at Kingsmead in Durban was washed out without a ball bowled. The Proteas won the second T20I at St George’s Park in Port Elizabeth by five wickets.
Yadav was named Player of the Match and Player of the Series.
South Africa and India will meet for three ODIs this month – and then contest a two-Test series.
