The Titans have signed batsman Josh van Heerden on a rookie contract for the 2023-24 domestic season in South Africa.
Van Heerden, who was born in Pretoria, played for Border during the 2022-23 season.
“Yes, Josh is a Pretoria boy. We’ve lost Theunis de Bruyn and we’re not going to be seeing much of Heinrich Klaasen, so we’ve given Josh a rookie contract,” Titans chief executive officer Jacques Faul told Rapport.
Klaasen is contracted by Cricket South Africa – and regularly plays Test, ODI and T20I cricket.
De Bruyn retired from international cricket earlier this year. Whether his domestic career continues remains in the balance.
Van Heerden has also been capped three times by Germany in T20I cricket. The International Cricket Council gave T20I status to all member nations in 2018.
