Titans spinner Tabraiz Shamsi took a hat-trick in Friday’s CSA T20 Challenge fixture against the Dolphins at St George’s Park in Port Elizabeth.
Shamsi dismissed batsmen Ruan de Swardt and Bryce Parsons with the closing deliveries of the eighth over. He then removed all-rounder Andile Phehlukwayo with the opening ball of the 10th over.

The wrist-spinner finished with figures of three for 15 in four overs, as the Titans won this semi-final by six wickets.
Shamsi currently occupies first position in the International Cricket Council’s rankings for T20I bowlers.
Prior to Shamsi, the last player to take a hat-trick in professional T20 cricket was West Indian seamer Jason Holder. He achieved this against England in Barbados in late January 2022.
Before Friday, the last South African to claim a hat-trick in professional T20 cricket was fast bowler Kagiso Rabada. He did so against England, in November 2021.
