South Africa are pursuing a 282-run target on day three of this week’s World Test Championship final against Australia at Lord’s.
All-rounder Wiaan Mulder batted in third position for the Proteas on day one of the WTC final. Mulder was dismissed for six off 44 deliveries.
“For the chase, I’d send Tristan Stubbs in at three and give him license to play with complete freedom,” wrote former Proteas batsman Herschelle Gibbs on social media.
Mulder batted third in South Africa’s second innings, regardless.
