Seamer Tshepo Moreki will rejoin Western Province ahead of the 2025-26 domestic season in South Africa.
Moreki left Western Province for the Lions in 2023 – and has since played Test cricket for the Proteas.
He was the Lions’ third-highest wicket-taker in the 2024-25 4-Day Domestic Series, division one.
Meanwhile, seamer Onke Nyaku has left Western Province. He has joined North West.

Western Province are currently hiring a new head coach. Former coach Salieg Nackerdien resigned earlier this month.
“I think whoever is coming in must build on what we have done in the the last couple of years. There are a lot of things we can still improve on. Having someone new and fresh ideas, having someone younger than me, can be a positive thing,” said Nackerdien.
“There are always high expectations at Western Province. We all know that from the past. Whoever is going to take the lead, they must build a big base of players for the longevity of Western Province cricket.
“We have managed to get some good structures in place, to get players on board and to play consistent cricket. We got players to understand the bigger picture in terms of winning trophies and we got guys to get their game in order to move to the next level.
“It will be the start of a new cycle. I think if we sign properly, we will have proper seasons for the next year or two.”
