The Tuskers have been promoted to division one of South African domestic cricket for the 2025-26 season.

The Tuskers won the 2024-25 T20 Knockout title and shared this season’s One-Day Cup, division two, and 4-Day Domestic Series Challenge, division two, titles with Border and Northern Cape, respectively.

“We will be promoted after dominating division two and steering clear of second place by 20 points for promotion,” read Sunday’s statement from the Tuskers.

“The Tuskers become the only team to win a treble in division two cricket.”

The Tuskers were also promoted to division one in 2023 before being relegated in 2024. They will likely replace the Knights in division one.

“When we were relegated before, we lost our main sponsor and we lost R5 million. If you move down, there is a big exodus of all your players and you have to maintain your field with about 40 percent of the budget that is reserved for teams in division one,” Knights chief executive officer Johan van Heerden told Rapport.
