Tygerberg Cricket Club have appointed Ashwin Cupido second XI head coach ahead of the 2022-23 Western Province Cricket Association season.
Tygerberg Cricket Club’s second XI will compete in the WPCA reserve division B. They finished in eighth position in 2021-22’s 11-team reserve B standings, after eight wins and 12 defeats.
“Its an interesting time, not just for myself, but for the club, especially after how well the first team did last season. I am happy to be a part of it and to see how we can grow from here,” said Cupido.

Tygerberg Cricket Club’s first XI will compete in the 2022-23 first division A. They were in contention for promotion to the premier league, which required a top two finish in the 2021-22 first division A. But they ended in fourth position, with 12 wins and nine losses.
“These are exciting times as we prepare for the upcoming season. This is my second season at the club and I am looking forward to following up on the successes of last season,” said Phillips.
