Wicketkeeper-batsman Carlos Koyana has left Tygerberg Cricket Club for Durbanville Cricket Club, ahead of the 2019-20 Western Province Cricket Association season.

Durbanville Cricket Club chairman Arno Schipper confirmed the move to Club Cricket SA late last week, after Koyana opted for participation in the WPCA premier league rather than another season with Tygerberg Cricket Club in the first division B.

Koyana has played 16 first-class matches for Western Province since October 2016’s debut – and represented the Cape Cobras in limited-overs competition in late 2017 and early 2018.

Durbanville Cricket Club keep Senger

Schipper, too, revealed Durbanville Cricket Club have retained head coach Manny Senger.

Senger coached Durbanville to the 2018-19 premier league and 2019 National Club Championship titles. He also worked with the Atlantic Pirates during the inaugural Cape Premier League earlier this year.

Durbanville Cricket Club and 11 other teams will be joined by the promoted University of Cape Town Cricket Club and Strandfontein Cricket Club in the 2019-20 premier league. Ottoman Cricket Club and Milnerton Cricket Club have been relegated to the first division A.
