Tygerberg Cricket Club’s Kasner brothers and star batsman join Northerns Goodwood Cricket Club

Brothers Fronick and Franco Kasner – and batsman Wade Cupido – have left Tygerberg Cricket Club for Northerns Goodwood Cricket Club ahead of the 2019-20 Western Province Cricket Association first division A.

Franco was the second-highest wicket-taker during the 2018-19 WPCA first division A. His 49 wickets were second only to the 51 taken by Primrose Cricket Club’s David Schierhout.

Tygerberg Cricket Club have also lost wicketkeeper-batsman Carlos Koyana to Durbanville Cricket Club. His moved was confirmed two months ago.

Elsewhere at Northerns Goodwood Cricket Club

Northerns Goodwood Cricket Club have also recruited Gugulethu Cricket Club’s Sibusiso Maseko and Green Point Cricket Club’s Seon Mouton. Zimbabwean Gilford Muzeya has joined the club, too.

Northerns Goodwood Cricket Club finished in eighth position in the 2018-19 first division A, after 11 wins and as many defeats. Eight of their victories were achieved with a bonus point.

They relished the presence of overseas professional Ian Cockbain. He was the season’s leading run-scorer in the first division A after Green Point Cricket Club’s Zac Elkin and Avendale Cricket Club’s Shane Dixon in second and third position, respectively. Dixon has since rejoined Wynberg Cricket Club.
