Union Stars Cricket Club all-rounder named SWD premier league Player of the Season

Union Stars Cricket Club’s Enverino Swartz has been named the South Western Districts Cricket Board’s 2017-18 premier league Player of the Season.

Swartz was key to Union Stars Cricket Club’s title-winning campaign. The talented all-rounder scored 344 runs in 14 innings at an average of 26.50 – and clinched 18 wickets at 16.30 each.

Union Stars Cricket Club, however, failed to qualify for the ongoing National Club Championship in Pretoria, after defeat to Wellington Cricket Club in the regional play-off.

Knysna Cavaliers Cricket Club’s Mark Vermeulen, meanwhile, clinched the promotion league Player of the Season accolade.
