East London-based United Cricket Club duo Gionne Koopman and Thandolwethu Mnyaka have been named in a strong South African Invitation XI for next month’s first-class fixture against England.

Former Primrose Cricket Club and current University of Western Cape Cricket Club batsman Zubayr Hamza has also been selected.

Senwes Park in Potchefstroom will host the three-day match on 15, 16 and 17 December 2015.

“The squad consists mainly of SA Academy players, plus a few who have just started to make their mark at franchise level,” said Cricket South Africa High Performance manager Vincent Barnes.

“It will be a wonderful opportunity for these players to show what they can do against world-class opposition.”
