New Cape Cobras batsman Janneman Malan will represent Durbanville Cricket Club, come the 2018-19 season.

Malan joined the Cobras from North West earlier this month – and will play alongside brother, Pieter, at the Cape Town-based franchise.

The third Malan brother, Andre, has signed a Western Province contract – and will also play for Durbanville Cricket Club.

“I’m looking forward to spending time with my older brother, Pieter. I will be carrying on as normal and focus on contributing to the team, culture and the squad as much as I can this season. Hopefully, I can make a positive impact,” Malan told SA Cricket magazine.

Durbanville Cricket Club occupied first position in 2017-18’s 12-team Western Province Cricket Association premier league standings, prior to January’s cancellation due to the ongoing drought in Cape Town and surrounds.

They are also the reigning Ama20 Competition and Multiply T20 Community Cup champions, but lost April’s Super Cup to the University of Pretoria Cricket Club (Tuks).
