The inaugural South Western Districts Veterans Cricket Association league will continue next month.
Whalers Veterans Cricket Club, from Mossel Bay, are currently at the top of the four-team points table.
George Veterans, Knysna Veterans and Oudtshoorn Veterans Cricket Club are also competing for the inaugural title.
“We are still finding our feet in trying to establish veterans cricket in our region,” said South Western Districts Veterans Cricket Association committee member Robert Jansen.
“We currently have four teams that face each other on alternate Sundays at one venue for the day. The matches have been competitive and played in great spirit. The camaraderie between the teams is at a great level.
“Veterans cricket in SWD should grow from strength to strength as it gets more exposure here in the Southern Cape.”
