Victoria Cricket Club have recruited batsman Isaac Dikgale, ahead of the 2018-19 Western Province Cricket Association season.
Dikgale left North West for Western Province earlier this year – and was accompanied by brothers Janneman and Andre Malan.
The talented right-hander averages 21.21 after 18 first-class appearances. His 594 runs include one century, against KwaZulu-Natal, and two half-tons.
Fast bowler Renaldo Meyer, too, has joined Victoria Cricket Club. He left Avendale Cricket Club earlier this month.
Meyer was in protracted conversation with Milnerton Cricket Club, but ultimately opted for fellow Western Province Cricket Association premier league unit, Victoria Cricket Club.
“I’m joining Victoria this season. Yes, I did talk to Milnerton, but I had a long think about it and I will go to Victoria,” he told Club Cricket SA.
Victoria Cricket Club named the experienced Dean Oosterwyk head coach in July.
According to the WPCA’s second draft of fixtures for the 2018-19 premier league, Victoria Cricket Club’s first match will be against Milnerton Cricket Club on 27 October. A visit to Rondebosch Cricket Club will follow 24 hours later.
November will bring challenging outings against Ottoman Cricket Club and Durbanville Cricket Club, Claremont Cricket Club and Bellville Cricket Club.
Victoria Cricket Club occupied 10th position in the 2017-18 premier league standings, prior to late January’s cancellation due to the ongoing drought in Cape Town and surrounds.
