Warren Ekstraal joins Victoria Cricket Club, who sign Carl Damon too

Leg-spinner Warren Ekstraal has joined Victoria Cricket Club for the 2023-24 Western Province Cricket Association first division B.

Ekstraal previously played for St Augustine Cricket Club – and later Claremont Cricket Club.

“We are thrilled to announce the acquisition of leg-spinner Warren Ekstraal from Claremont Cricket Club,” read a statement from Victoria Cricket Club.

“With a wealth of experience, we are confident Warren will be a valuable addition to our team.

“We believe he will make a significant contribution to the club’s success this season.”

“In addition to Warren, we are delighted to welcome top-order batsman Carl Damon from Hanover Park Cricket Club.

“Carl is a remarkable young talent. We are eager to nurture and develop his skills. His arrival adds a promising dimension to our team. We are looking forward to his contribution this season.”

Earlier this week, Victoria Cricket Club confirmed the arrival of left-arm seamer Aqeel Abbas and batsman Siseko Sobekwa from Ottoman Cricket Club and Kraaifontein Cricket Club, respectively.

Last month, seamer Robin Kriel joined Victoria Cricket Club from Claremont Cricket Club.

Captain Marco Wyngard has returned to Victoria Cricket Club after one season with Rondebosch Cricket Club.
