The Warriors will pay Cricket South Africa R100,000 after not fielding enough black African players in the XI for 16 February 2025’s fixture against the Dolphins in Durban.
The Warriors named all-rounder Andile Mokgakane and wicketkeeper-batsman Sinethemba Qeshile in the XI for that match at Kingsmead. CSA, however, require a minimum of six players of colour – three must be Black African – per XI.
“Cricket South Africa confirms that the recent dispute with the Warriors regarding administrative compliance has been amicably resolved through a successful mediation process,” read Tuesday’s statement from CSA.
“As part of the agreement, the Warriors have accepted their current log position and will pay an amount of R100,000 towards CSA’s grassroots cricket development initiatives in under-resourced communities within the Eastern Cape. The payment will be made within 14 days of the settlement.
“Both CSA and the Warriors remain united in their commitment to transforming cricket in South Africa. Together, they will continue to drive inclusive and sustainable efforts to ensure the sport is accessible and equitable for all.”
The Warriors, meanwhile, have retained head coach Robin Peterson and assistant coach Mark Charlton ahead of the 2025-26 domestic season in South Africa.
Seamers Alfred Mothoa and Renaldo Meyer, all-rounder Beyers Swanepoel and batsman Diego Rosier have left the Warriors.
The Warriors have gained seamers Gideon Peters and Kerwin Mungroo from North West, seamer Aphiwe Mnyanda from Border, batsman Modiri Litheko from Northern Cape and spinner Thomas Kaber from South Western Districts.
