All-rounder Beyers Swanepoel has left Northern Cape for the Warriors ahead of South Africa’s 2022-23 domestic season.

Swanepoel’s arrival at the Warriors follows the exits of batsmen Eddie Moore and Jon-Jon Smuts, who have joined Western Province and the Dolphins, respectively.

Seamer Alindile Mhletywa has also left the Warriors. He is going to KwaZulu-Natal Inland’s Tuskers.

“Beyers is a pleasant guy and will be good for the changeroom. I want guys with a good attitude in the changeroom,” Warriors head coach and former Proteas spinner Robin Peterson told OFM.

“He is an aggressive left-hander with the bat in hand and really my kind of player who can come in at seven or eight and score runs.

“We need more all-rounders in all South African cricket.”

What Swanepoel said

“It’s always been one of my dreams to play first division cricket in South Africa and to play for the Warriors it’s even better,” added Swanepoel.

“I can’t wait to start working with coach Peterson and to be a part of the Warriors culture is something excites me.”
