The Northern Superchargers have appointed Proteas all-rounder Wayne Parnell captain for this year’s The Hundred in the United Kingdom.
Parnell has succeeded former Northern Superchargers captain Faf du Plessis.
“We are delighted to have Wayne back in the squad. He knows the conditions well,” said Northern Superchargers head coach James Foster.
“He brings with him a wealth of experience from his international and domestic career and that will be invaluable to the team.”
Parnell is currently captaining the Seattle Orcas in Major League Cricket in the United States of America.
Earlier this year, he captained the Pretoria Capitals in the SA20 – and has since played for Durham in the T20 Blast and Royal Challengers Bangalore in the Indian Premier League.
